Our History and Vision

Our History and Vision

In late 2004, the Lord worked in the hearts of a few families to meet for some serious Bible study in their homes. By God's grace, the few families who had been gathering for Bible study had grown numerically - and were now too numerous to meet in any of their homes. These few families decided to reach out to a local church body (El Salem Baptist church at 1751 100th Avenue, Osceola, WI, 54020). For the merger price of replacing some of the dilapidated doors on the church building, El Salem gave the growing Bible Study permission meet in their basement on Saturday evenings. In classic New Life style, this is where they began eating together. The Bible study gathered to eat and study the Word. Having grown, they decided to call their first Pastor, Jeremy Kimbal, who promptly responded to the call and shepherded them until they could no longer fit in the El Salem church basement (Jeremy Kimbal is now a professor at Ceadervile university in Ohio (Jeremy Kimble | Cedarville University )). The Bible Study became known as New Life Christian Community and moved into the gymnasium of the Elementary School in our now home of Dresser.
In 2013 New Life Christian Community outgrew the space in the Dresser gymnasium and, by God's grace, moved into the local renowned Bar and Grill in downtown Dresser.  And we sure love proclaiming Christ in this old bar and grill. The Building provides a fitting metaphor of what the Lord does in each of our lives.
From the start our desire was that New Life would be a place where anyone could grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ together
and live out their faith in the real world every day, not just for an hour on Sunday.  Ultimately, we exist in community to glorify God by the transforming work of Jesus Christ, the power of His Holy Spirit and the grace given to us freely by God Himself through prayer, worship and the study of His Word.
The name, New Life Christian Community, closely linked to 2 Corinthians 5:17, is a constant reminder of the new life we have by being united with Christ. Furthermore, it speaks to our desire to be a community of believers that loves to serve God by serving others.  In Jesus’ name we seek to love and serve the people in our community and all those to whom we have access.
