Jay Swisher

Elder

My wife, Rosalie, and I have been married over 50 years. Our two daughters have provided us with the joy of grandparenting eleven grandchildren. I worked most of my career in Electronics and Information Technology, with a five-year break between those two technologies. Those in between years were invested in lives as I taught middle school Math and Bible and served our church as a full-time elder. I retired from the IT world in 2016 and remained in the Twin Cities area as I continued to care for my aging mother. We moved to Dresser in 2018 and have found living in Wisconsin to be the perfect fit we did not realize we were looking for.

Even before arriving in the area, we had decided to “try out” New Life on the recommendation of two members of our extended family. On that first Sunday, both of us felt it was obvious that New Life would be our new church family. I served thirty some years as an elder at the previous church, and somehow, I was talked (and prayed) into serving as an elder at New Life. I hold the questionably prestigious position of being the eldest of the elders.
