Immerse–Discipleship for the whole family

Immerse–Discipleship for the whole family

Immerse classes are a way for the body of Christ at New Life to be further equipped for their works of ministry (Ephesians 4:12). Our conviction with youth group ministry is to promote more discipleship in the home and organically throughout the whole body of Christ. From the Word, we see supporting, equipping, honoring, and encouraging parents to be the primary disciplers. Beyond that, each and every believer is also to pursue relationships with one another, each growing to be mature and obedient disciples of Jesus Christ.

We are encouraging our young adults (high school students) to join an adult study during Immerse night. Our goal is that more inter-generational relationships will be formed with young adults and more seasoned adults and seniors. This inter-generational discipleship is seen from passages such as Titus Ch. 2 that tells older men to be sober-minded, dignified, sound in faith, in love and steadfastness, urging younger men to have self-control. Older women are to be reverent and not slanderers, they are to teach what is good and so train young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, and kind so that the Word of God may not be reviled.

The adult classes this 2018-2019 season will include:

  1. Personal Spiritual Disciplines facilitated by Dr. Rene Milner and Isaiah Milner
    • 1 Timothy 4:7 “…discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness…”  Discussions will be through the book Personal Spiritual disciplines for the Christian life by Donald S. Whitney
  2. Biblical Manhood and Womanhood facilitated by Pastor Paul
    • In a time and culture of gender and role confusion, this study seeks to proclaim God’s good design from the Word. Material from Truth 78 Curriculum Rejoicing in God’s good Design
  3. Bible study through the book of Acts facilitated by Tim Schwederske
  4. “Owning Your Faith” lead by Pastor Bennett Anderson
